The term “fish” in surfing has been grossly over used

Traditional fish were—

  • short
  • thick
  • and stubby boards

They were pretty flat with only two fins and a deep swallow tail. But in recent times the swallow tail has been described as a fish tail.

Its not… it’s still a swallow tail.

“Fish boards are great for larger surfers who can ride short boards.

They are great in softer mushy waves, and work great in small or tall surf. If you can surf your shortboard and your funboard fairly well, then maybe its time for a fish. The board pictured is a Levy Twinzer! One of the most amazing summer shapes of ALL time!!!
